Caitlin has trained and worked with companion pets, shelter animals, and Working Canines for more than eight years. Caitlin’s professional training experience began when she volunteered with a local Search and Rescue trainer, Patricia Kaynarlogu. This led her to the exciting world of Working Canines. She put this knowledge and her new found skills to use with the local shelter dogs and cats to make them more adoptable. Caitlin lives with and trains her two rescue dogs Monty-the Shih Tzu mix, and Rebel-the Malinois/Collie mix!

Caitlin has been with The Canine Handler Academy since it’s conception. While she does not live in the area, she has traveled here every summer to instruct. The Canine Handler Academy allows Caitlin to combine two of her passions; training dogs and educating youth and adults. When she is not in Philly, Caitlin is the Canine College Coordinator at the Charlesotn Animal Society and the Lead Dog Trainer with Pets for Vets.

Knowing anyone can call his or herself a dog trainer, Caitlin set out for the certifications and credentials that would set her apart. Caitlin completed the Puppy Start Right Course for Instructors through the Karen Pryor Academy. She applied, tested, and earned the credentials Certified Professional Dog Trainer, CPDT-KA, through the “leading independent certifying organization” for dog training professionals (CCPDT). Caitlin finished Dr. Ian Dunbar’s SIRIUS® Dog Training Academy. She is also a Professional Member of The Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT).

Caitlin stays up to date on the current scientific methods of dog training through her continued education via online and in person seminars, networking, and her time as an instructor at the Penn Vet Working Dog Center’s Canine Handler Academy.
